Building global democracy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United Earth is a global initiative to develop a democratic geopolitical system capable of addressing humanity’s shared challenges and building a peaceful, ecologically sustainable and socially just civilisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initiated by Worried Earthlings (WE)<\/a>, the initiative invites people everywhere to participate in building a global political community and the institutions needed for democratic governance at the planetary level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strategy is to establish Earth Parliament independently through a global grassroots constituent process, then transform the United Nations system under the democratic and constitutional authority of the new global political order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative’s theoretical foundation is a work in progress, presented in three main parts on this website \u2014 WHY<\/a>, WHAT<\/a> and HOW<\/a> \u2014 and in the document Earth democracy: Why it is needed, what it is, and how we build it<\/em> (downloadable here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This is a starting proposal for collective development, not a predetermined constitution. Its ideas, institutions and methods are open to critical examination, testing and democratic revision:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
